Question 1

What does Agrumity do?

Accepted Answer

Agrumity is an experiential tourism brand based on the Sorrento Peninsula, Italy. We run hands-on experiences: lemon grove tours, seasonal lemon picking, Italian cooking classes, pizza making classes and farm dinners, all built around the Sorrento Lemon IGP.

Question 2

Does Agrumity sell fruit or physical products?

Accepted Answer

No. Agrumity is not a fruit shop or a grocery brand. Our business is live, in-person experiences in Sorrento. A small range of artisan products, such as the Limoncello Kit, is handled separately on request and is not our core offering.

Question 3

Is Agrumity a tour operator or a reseller?

Accepted Answer

We design and run our own experiences directly with local families, farmers and artisans on the Sorrento Peninsula. The same experiences can also be booked through partner platforms such as GetYourGuide, Viator and Airbnb, but the host on site is always Agrumity.

Question 4

Who will I meet during the experiences?

Accepted Answer

Local hosts and producers: Antonella on her family farm in the hills, Mimì in the seaside lemon grove, Chef Geppi for the gluten-free cooking class, and the farming families who look after the lemon groves in Piano di Sorrento.

Question 5

What is the Sorrento Lemon IGP?

Accepted Answer

The Sorrento Lemon IGP (Limone di Sorrento IGP) is a Protected Geographical Indication lemon variety grown on the Sorrento Peninsula. It is the key ingredient of traditional artisan limoncello and the centrepiece of every Agrumity experience.

Question 6

Do I need to book in advance?

Accepted Answer

Booking in advance is recommended, since each group is limited to 8 guests and slots fill up quickly in high season. The private experiences run on request, generally on Saturdays and Sundays, so they need more notice.

Question 7

How did Agrumity start?

Accepted Answer

Agrumity was founded in 2021 by a group of young locals from the Sorrento Peninsula. The idea was to support and promote the area by building experiences around the people who actually work it: local farmers, food producers and home cooks. The first partner farm was Aranceto Storico in Piano di Sorrento, and the project grew from there.

Question 8

Who runs the Agrumity experiences?

Accepted Answer

The Agrumity team is made up of young people from the Sorrento area. Some of us are students, some are professionals, some hold a second job and host tours alongside it. What we have in common is that we live here and want to tell the story of our own territory rather than a generic version of it.

Question 9

Are Agrumity tours led by licensed tour guides?

Accepted Answer

No. Our hosts are not certified tour guides. Agrumity experiences take place on private family farms in Piano di Sorrento and are hosted by local team members and by the farmers themselves. If you are looking for a formal, accredited guided tour of Sorrento's monuments and historic centre, a licensed guide is the right choice; our tours are about farm life, lemons and local food.

Question 10

What is the atmosphere like on an Agrumity tour?

Accepted Answer

Informal and friendly. Groups are capped at 8 guests and the tone is closer to spending time with a local friend than following a guide with a flag. You are welcome to ask questions, wander, taste, take photos and take your time.

Question 11

Why does Agrumity work with local producers?

Accepted Answer

Because the point of the project is the people, not the backdrop. Building experiences around working farms and small local producers keeps the money in the community that grows the lemons, keeps traditional cultivation economically viable, and gives travellers something that only exists here.

Question 12

Does Agrumity own the lemon groves?

Accepted Answer

No. Agrumity works with family-run farms in Piano di Sorrento, on the Sorrento Peninsula. Our lemon tours are hosted on two partner farms a few steps apart: Farm 1 – Aranceto Storico (Via dei Platani 12) and Farm 2 – Tenuta di Leva (Via dei Platani 19), each run by the family that has worked the land for generations.

Question 13

Which farm will my lemon tour take place at?

Accepted Answer

You choose it yourself when you book. Each time slot on the booking calendar shows the farm it runs at, either Farm 1 – Aranceto Storico, Via dei Platani 12, or Farm 2 – Tenuta di Leva, Via dei Platani 19, both in Piano di Sorrento. The farm you selected is also repeated in your confirmation email, so check it before you set off: the two addresses are a short walk apart but they are different entrances.

Question 14

Is the tour the same at both farms?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Program, duration, maximum group size of 8 guests and tastings are identical at both Agrumity farms. What changes is the setting and the host family: Farm 1 is a rustic working farm, Farm 2 a historic estate with more comfortable facilities.

Question 15

Can I choose which farm I visit?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The farm is shown next to every available time slot, so you pick it directly when you select your date and time. If the slot you want is at the other farm and you would rather not switch, contact Agrumity by email, WhatsApp or Instagram and we will check what we can arrange.

Question 16

Who runs Farm 1 – Aranceto Storico?

Accepted Answer

Antonino Iaccarino, known to everyone as Tonino, is the fourth generation of his family to farm Aranceto Storico in Via dei Platani 12, Piano di Sorrento. The farm has produced lemons, oranges, olives and other crops since the early 1900s, more than a hundred years of continuous work. It was also the first farm to join Agrumity.

Question 17

What is Farm 1 – Aranceto Storico like?

Accepted Answer

It is a real working farm, rustic and deliberately not turned into a tourist attraction. Guests see a Sorrento citrus farm exactly as it is and spend time with the local farming tradition rather than a staged version of it.

Question 18

Who runs Farm 2 – Tenuta di Leva?

Accepted Answer

Giovanni Di Leva runs Tenuta di Leva in Via dei Platani 19, Piano di Sorrento. The Di Leva family were among the first in the area to produce citrus liqueurs and limoncello, and the estate still grows lemons under its old pergolas while offering more modern facilities alongside them.

Question 19

Which farm hosts the cooking experiences?

Accepted Answer

Experiences that include food preparation or a meal, such as the Lemon Tour with Light Lunch and the Gluten Free Cooking Class, are held at Farm 2 – Tenuta di Leva, Via dei Platani 19, because the estate has full kitchen and dining facilities.

Question 20

Are there animals at the farms?

Accepted Answer

Farm 1 – Aranceto Storico is home to two small dogs, Minù and Bella, who are usually around during visits. Farm 2 – Tenuta di Leva has no dogs, only a few kittens. If you are not comfortable around dogs, book a time slot at Farm 2 and let us know in advance.

Question 21

Can I bring my own dog on the tour?

Accepted Answer

Yes, both Agrumity farms are pet-friendly. If you are travelling with a dog we recommend booking Farm 2 – Tenuta di Leva, Via dei Platani 19, since there are no resident dogs there and your pet will be more at ease.

Question 22

Is there parking at the farms?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Both Farm 1 – Aranceto Storico and Farm 2 – Tenuta di Leva have free parking inside the property, in Via dei Platani, Piano di Sorrento.

Question 23

Why does Agrumity work with several local farms?

Accepted Answer

Because these are working farms, not venues. Spreading small groups across more than one family farm keeps each visit intimate, lets every host keep farming normally, and means the income stays with the local farmers who actually grow the lemons.
